Chocolate Banana Bread

Our favorite quarantine recipe, this quick and easy bread is a chocolate lover’s dream.

Recipe from

1 c all purpose flour

1/2 c unsweetened cocoa powder

1 t baking soda

1/2 t sea salt

1 1/2 c mashed ripe bananas

1/4 c melted butter

1/4 c canola oil

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 large egg

1 t vanilla extract

1 c chocolate chips divided

Pre-heat oven to 350º. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Add melted butter and oil to mashed banana and stir until combined. Add the brown sugar, egg and vanilla and stir until smooth. Stir in the dry ingredients. Don’t overmix. Stir in 3/4 cups of chocolate chips. Pour into greased 9×5 loaf pan. Sprinkle top with remaining chocolate chips. Bake 50-65 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean (a little melted chocolate chip is okay).  Cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Carefully remove from pan and allow to cool completely.
